Our Story

Uncle Ray's family recipe, truly handcrafted on Almaden since 2012.

Real Kabob started with a simple idea: bring the Persian kabob Uncle Ray grew up with, the kind grilled over open flame, served with saffron rice and a sauce people fight over, to South Bay tables.

Everything we serve is prepared in-house from scratch. Nothing arrives pre-prepped from a supplier. Our chicken is cleaned, cut, and marinated by hand. Our signature koobideh beef is mixed by hand and skewered by hand, every single order. Handcrafted is not a buzzword for us, it is the work.

Thirteen years and a 4.8-star Google rating later, we're still a family kitchen. Women-owned. The same recipes, the same standards, the same regulars who walk in and we already know their order.

Do you offer catering in San Jose?

What is the Real Kabob Meal Prep program?

Our Meal Prep program delivers portion-controlled, flame-grilled Persian meals built for leaning, bulking or simply eating clean. The program is coming soon, sign up to be notified at launch.

Do you offer halal options?

Halal availability can vary depending on our current suppliers. If halal is important to you, please call us before ordering and we will confirm which items are halal that day. We are happy to help.

Is your food gluten-free?

Almost everything on our menu is gluten-free. The only item we carry that contains gluten is lavash bread, which is served on the side and can be omitted from any order upon request. Our meats, rice, and grilled vegetables contain no gluten.

Do you have vegan and vegetarian options?

Yes. We offer flame-grilled vegetable skewers, Shirazi salad, basmati saffron rice and a rotating selection of vegan-friendly sides.

What areas do you deliver to?

We deliver within a 5 to 7-mile radius of our South San Jose location. Current delivery areas include: Lick, Alamitos, San Jose, Seven Trees, Cambrian Park, Campbell, Willow Glen South, Fruitdale, Cambrian Park East, Communications Hill, Branham/Pearl, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, Cambrian Park East Central, North Willow Glen/Gardner, San Tomas, Guadalupe/Washington, Parkview/Vista Park, Willow Glen, and West Evergreen.
